Normand Legault is a well-known figure in the Greater Montréal and Québec business community and on the local sports scene, where he has acquired a strong reputation as a promoter over the past 30 years. Mr. Legault was actively involved in organizing the Canadian Grand Prix from 1978 to 2008, and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer from 1996 to 2008.
Mr. Legault was also Chairman of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montréal in 2000 and 2001, and currently chairs the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montréal Foundation. He also chaired the Régie de la Place des Arts from 2002 to 2004, during which time he also sat on the Board of Directors of the Société générale de financement. From 2004 to 2006, he was a member of the Board of Montréal International. In 2005, he co-chaired the Fédération internationale de natation (FINA) World Championships in Montréal. From 2010 to 2013, he was Chairman of the Board of the Société du Parc Jean-Drapeau. Mr. Legault is also a member of the boards of directors of Aéroports de Montréal, Cogeco Inc., Solotech, Dorna Sports and the Commission de la Construction du Québec.
