- The Greater Montréal ICT sector GDP grew by more than 25% between 2002 and 2010, fuelled mainly by the boom in sub-sectors such as multimedia, including video games, software development and the implementation of ICT services in a number of other sectors such as finance and health care.**
- The share of ICT services in total ICT sector employment in metropolitan Montréal increased from 38% in 2002 to 46% in 2012.**
- More precisely, employment in the computer systems design and related services sub-sector in Greater Montréal was up a total of 11% from 2008 to 2011, despite the major economic downturn in recent years. As the graph below shows, Greater Montréal ranks 1st among major urban centres in Northeastern North America.
