The city earned top spot in Canada, 3rd place in North America, after New York City and Chicago, and 8th spot in the world, as we can see in the following table:

It earned 17th spot among 129 major cities and clinched the top spot in Canada and 3rd place in North America after New York City (7th) and San Francisco (9th), but ahead of Seattle (18th) and Toronto (23rd).

“Montreal’s vibrant and creative culture, its world-class universities, and exceptional quality of life make it one of North America’s best cities to live and work in. Recall that earlier this fall, Greater Montréal was crowned the no. 1 city in the Americas for foreign direct investment by WAVTEQ’s City FDI Performance Index study and fDi Magazine gave it top honours for best FDI strategy in the Digital Economies of the Future ranking.
