TAX AND FINANCIAL INCENTIVES

Michel Lefebvre - Lawyer, CPA, CGA, Leader, SR&ED and Tax Incentives

Organizations setting up operations in Greater Montréal may be eligible for tax and financial incentives to help them get their activities off the ground.

The governments have put a range of incentives in place to support:

  • Impactful or innovative investment projects, i.e., that are likely to have an impact on the local economy. Preferential electricity rates, support for creativity and innovative manufacturers, ESSOR program, venture capital and investment fund… the possibilities are endless;
  • Research and development, thanks to tax credits for innovative businesses and tax holidays for foreign researchers and experts working in the region;
  • Workforce training, with funding from Emploi-Québec, for on-the-job experience and talent acquisition;
  • Targeted activity sectors, such as multimedia, ebusiness, finance, film production, aerospace and defence.

Please contact Montréal International for more information about the various programs available and to get help with the application process.
