Dominique Anglade, President and CEO of Montréal International, named Young Global Leader

The World Economic Forum today announced that it has named Dominique Anglade, President and CEO of Montréal International (MI), a Young Global Leader. This distinction is awarded each year to the new generation of 40-and-under leaders from around the world who have been recognized for their professional achievements and their commitment to society. Ms. Anglade is the only Quebecker to have received this honor in 2014, among 214 honourees from 66 countries.

The Forum of Young Global Leaders has over 900 members, from a wide variety of disciplines and sectors—including business leaders and key political, social and cultural players. “I am very happy to be joining an international community that is focused on collaboration, learning and action,” said Dominique Anglade. “This is a unique opportunity to expand our network and promote Greater Montréal’s economic strengths to foreign companies, international organizations and skilled workers,” she added.

Ms. Anglade’s contributions have earned her more than 25 awards and distinctions, such as “Les 15 femmes qui feront bouger le Québec” (Fifteen women spearheading change in Québec) presented by Les Affaires magazine, and a tribute from l’Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (Québec society of professional engineers). She is also co-founder of the KANPE foundation, whose mission is to fight the cycle of poverty in Haïti.

Some well-known Young Global Leaders include Marissa Mayer, President and CEO of Yahoo (USA); Larry Page, Co-founder and CEO of Google (USA); Naoko Yamazaki, Astronaut and Mission Specialist (Japan) and Zhou Xun, Actress and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador (China).
