Montréal, April 15, 2015 – Archimed, a leading publisher of document management and processing software for businesses and government agencies, announced that it has set up its North American headquarters in Greater Montréal as Archimed Solutions Inc. With ELISE, its flagship electronic document management and business process management software solution, the French company is pursuing growth in Québec as a first step in its three-year global strategy.
Archimed’s Montréal team will be in charge of developing the company’s network of certified partners. “We had already made a name for ourselves in the French and northern European markets, so the next natural step was to expand into Québec, where there is a very strong demand for document management software—a demand we can meet,” explained Eric Ruyffelaere, CEO of Archimed. “Faced with a growing flow of information, Québec businesses and government agencies soon realized the advantages of having a tool that allows them to manage, link, circulate and secure their printed and electronic documents,” added Christian Serrure, Chief Product Officer at Archimed.
Following its decision to locate in Québec, Archimed partnered with consulting firm Rézoway for business support and insight into the Canadian market. “Archimed’s extensive technological expertise and excellent customer references will go a long way toward ensuring its success in North America,” said Laurent Satre, founder of Rézoway.
Montréal International was there every step of the way, helping Archimed’s new subsidiary integrate into the economic fabric of Greater Montréal. “Québec’s booming ICT industry has been a major draw for French businesses for years, and Archimed Solutions Inc. will add value to our highly diverse and competitive software market,” said Dominique Anglade, President and CEO of Montréal International. “Software is all around us, driving productivity and competitiveness across industries and bringing efficiency to businesses and organizations,” she explained.
The province’s software publishing industry boasts over 200 companies, accounts for more than 7,200 jobs, and generates $1.4 billion in annual revenues. It is also highly innovative, investing around $100 million in R&D every year.
Founded in 1993, Archimed is an independent global publisher of integrated document management (EDM, ECM) software and the creator of ELISE, a software solution that helps private companies and government agencies focus on their core business by streamlining their document management processes. Archimed has grown to serve hundreds of customers, and its solutions, which have helped manage millions of documents, are being used by tens of thousands of people every day. The company has built a network of key partners in Europe, Northern Africa and North America to better meet its clients’ needs and achieve growth.
