Gorilla Group Plans to Double Size of Montreal Operations

September 2015—Gorilla Group, an award-winning commerce solutions provider, has announced its intention to continue the rapid expansion of its Canadian operations to keep pace with the business’ tremendous growth. After building its Montreal location to almost forty employees to date, Gorilla plans to double the size of its Quebec-based staff over the next year to approximately 80, with a particular focus on adding highly skilled technology workers. In particular, Gorilla will be looking to add talented front-end developers, Java and php developers, system architects, and engineers to supplement their team.

Gorilla’s Montreal office serves as a key development center for the company, which is a digital commerce agency offering a range of value-added services including strategy, design, development, post-launch managed services, and hosting. Headquartered in Chicago, with additional locations throughout North America and Europe, the company has experienced exponential growth over the last eight years, growing to over 200 employees worldwide. The company has built its reputation by delivering award-winning ecommerce solutions to a long list of well-known B2B and direct-to-consumer brands. As a result, Gorilla has been repeatedly recognized as one of the fastest growing privately-held companies in North America.

In selecting Quebec as the site of its first North American office outside of the U.S., Montreal International was instrumental in providing support through every step of the process. The assistance of Montreal International simplified the difficult process of expansion and helped shorten the time needed to make the office operational. To date, Gorilla’s decision to launch operations in Montreal—a city that is an impressive hub for commerce, technology, and culture—has received positive feedback across the company.

“Our decision to expand to Montreal has been an unqualified success. The highly skilled and motivated individuals we’ve added to our team have had an immediate impact on our business. For that reason, as well as the great cultural fit we’ve experienced in Montreal, we’re planning on actively adding to our team to build out our capabilities.”
