An International Convention Center

Montreal ranks among the top cities in North America as an international convention center.

It's no wonder that convention-goers have an ongoing love affair with Montreal. The metropolis enjoys an excellent reputation worldwide as a hotbed for research and development, boasts ultramodern facilities and offers its visitors an endless array of activities and internationally renowned events to complement their work schedule. Montreal is home to two major convention centers: the Palais des congrès and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) conference center. These two large complexes are equipped with state-of-the-art information, telecommunications and multimedia technologies, including teleconferencing, webcasting, and simultaneous translation equipment.

Newly expanded and renovated, the Palais des congrès offers convention-goers high-tech facilities and services. Its 65 meeting rooms can accommodate over 20,000 participants. In 2003-2004, the Palais hosted 179 events of all types (national and international conventions, exhibitions, trade shows, etc.).

Located in the heart of the Quartier international of Montreal, the ICAO headquarters includes two vast conference halls designed according to UN standards to meet the specific needs of international organizations.

To ensure that convention-goers get the most from their stay, planners can choose from some 20 other sites designed with large conventions in mind, as well as from a wide range of hotel establishments at affordable prices. In all, participants have a choice of over 25,000 rooms, with the majority located in the vicinity of the convention sites.
