Montrealers pay federal and Québec income tax based on a progressive tax table. Individuals pay tax on income from all sources. However, they are entitled to various personal exemptions, specifically in respect of dependants and taxes paid abroad.
Fiscal agreements are in place with a number of countries to avoid double taxation.
