Inaugurated in 2004, Montréal's International Quarter (Quartier international) is an urban area located between the city's business district and Old Montréal, designed to promote and develop Montréal's international role. It is an a truly contemporary, prestigious and exclusive environment offering an exceptional quality of life right in the heart of downtown.

The Quartier international highlights Montréal’s role as an international city, hosting more than 80% of its international organizations. Among those  headquartered within its limits are the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), International Air Transport Association (IATA), Airport Council International (ACI), World Anti-doping Agency (WADA), the Secretariat of the Convention on Biodiversity (SCBD) and the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC). The World Trade Centre and the Palais des congrès are also located within the International Quarter.

The International Quarter is also a venue for Montréal's talent and expertise, a choice site to showcase innovation in design, architecture and planning and to stage cultural activities.
