Agtech: Technology to advance agriculture

In the context of the fight against climate change, cutting-edge technologies are being used to build a greener and more resilient agriculture. Vertical farms, smart farming, agricultural biotechnology, automation… Innovations are multiplying to reduce the sector’s carbon footprint.

The new agriculture central to the economies of Greater Montréal and Québec

As a hub of expertise in agtech, the city is home to a specialized innovation campus with more than 250 members and partners, including 13 universities and research centres. The 15-km² Zone Agtech in L’Assomption provides access to an innovative business environment, greenhouses and experimental plots, demonstration areas, consulting services, incubation spaces, laboratories and more.

This is a unique offer anchored in a highly strategic industry that can also count on Greater Montréal’s strong ecosystems in information technology and artificial intelligence to develop the new agriculture.
