Montréal, top host city in North America for international conventions
Montréal ranked first in North America for the number of meetings organized in 2012 by international associations, according to the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), finishing ahead of other major U.S. and Canadian cities, including New York, Boston, San Francisco, Washington, San Diego, Chicago, Vancouver and Toronto.

MI and Montréal Mayor on European mission
Montréal Mayor and President of the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal (CMM) Michael Applebaum, and the President and CEO of Montréal International, Jacques St-Laurent, will be travelling to Europe, May 11 to 18, to take part in a technical mission. This mission will provide an opportunity to learn about model projects in Hamburg, Copenhagen, Malmö and Stockholm, in collaboration with municipal governments of Northern European nations.

With the support of Montréal International (MI), German firm PFW will be establishing its North American head office in Greater Montréal. PFW, renowned for its wide range of design, engineering and certification services in the aerospace industry, is expecting to create more than 100 jobs during the next three years.

Montréal International Announces Results for 2012 at Its 17th Annual Meeting
Montréal International (MI) announced its results for 2012 at its 17th Annual Meeting attended by over 200 members and partners and Jean-François Lisée, Minister of International Relations, La Francophonie and External Trade and Minister responsible for the Montréal region. Among the highlights for 2012 was MI’s contribution to attracting $689 million in foreign direct investment (FDI) to metropolitan Montréal.
