Applied AI: Brainbox AI inaugurates new lab and showroom in Montréal
Montréal’s innovation ecosystem just got a new addition.
BrainBox AI, a subsidiary of Trane Technologies, has inaugurated its new Global AI Lab and Showroom in the heart of downtown Montréal, marking an investment that reinforces the city’s position as a global hub for applied artificial intelligence.
The facility was unveiled with an official reception in the presence of Montréal’s tech community, partners of Brainbox AI such as AWS, IVADO and Concordia University, along with dozens of experts working on next-generation technologies to reduce buildings’ energy use and emissions, while improving performance at scale.
Beyond the Lab, the Showroom offers an interactive glimpse into how AI is already transforming building operations, turning complex systems into tangible, real-world impact.
This announcement comes as global AI leaders increasingly turn to Montréal to tap into its talent, research strength and collaborative ecosystem, and accelerate the commercialisation of their solutions. Montréal boasts nearly 50,000 professionals with AI skills, a world-renowned talent pool fueled by top academic hubs such as Mila, the world’s largest academic AI research lab.
