Greater Montréal’s economic promotion agency
Montréal International (MI) supports Greater Montréal’s economic development by attracting sustainable wealth and talent from abroad, while amplifying the success of its partners and clients.
Mandates
Its mandates include the attraction of foreign direct investment, international organizations, entrepreneurs and talented international workers to the region.
A public-private partnership
Created in 1996, Montréal International is a non-profit organization that is financed by the private sector, the governments of Canada and Québec, the Montréal Metropolitan Community and the City of Montréal.
Since 2013, MI has contributed to attracting direct foreign investment projects valued at $24 billion, leading to the creation or maintenance of 86,000 jobs. We have also played a key role in the decisions of nearly half of the city’s 70 international organizations to establish themselves here, as well as in attracting and retaining more than 13,000 strategic international workers.
