Accreon plans major expansion in Montréal

May 24, 2017

Opens new office and envisions hiring up to 30 specialists

Montréal, May 24, 2017 – Accreon, a healthcare technology and business services firm focused on integrating and managing health information, has established a new office in Montréal and launched a campaign to recruit developers, business analysts, project managers and quality assurance experts as part of a major expansion. The company, which already has a strong presence in Canada, is anticipating substantial growth in the Montréal area in 2017, including the hiring of between 20 to 30 people.

“We recognize that Montréal is a hub for healthcare and life sciences clusters and Montréal International did a stellar job at promoting the city as a market for opportunity,” said Eric Demers, President and CEO of Accreon. “We look forward to employing a core professional services team that will deliver work to our clients in the Montréal market and beyond.”

As part of its expansion plan, Accreon has already hired a Regional Vice President, Strategic Solutions to focus on sales in the Montréal market and is forming partnerships with key organizations in the healthcare and life sciences and technology spaces, such as Montréal InVivo, to accelerate its development.  “While we already have a significant presence in Toronto, Fredericton and Charlottetown, our business analysis clearly demonstrated a need for a healthcare-focused services provider in the Montréal market,” Demers explained. “What’s more, Montréal is a gateway to North America and our resources will be able to easily commute to serve our U.S.-based clients.”

With a more than 10-year track record, Accreon has emerged as a market leader in its core services, which include strategic consulting, integration, implementation and development, by bringing a more strategic vision to projects than many other service providers. Upon completion of a management buy out in 2015, it has been accelerating its growth in the United States and enhancing its position as a market leader in Canada.

“We are delighted that Accreon has selected Montréal as a base for expansion,” said Hubert Bolduc, President and CEO of Montréal International. “Our city is emerging as a global leader in life sciences and health technologies (LSHT) and this will further contribute to the LSHT cluster’s role as a driver of innovation and added value for Québec’s economy.”

The LSHT cluster of the Montréal metropolitan area, known as Montréal InVivo, currently comprises almost 600 organizations, including more than 150 research centres, 80 subsidiaries of world-class companies, and 40,000 people employed in the sector. A wellspring of great ideas, the cluster includes four universities and ranks first in Canada for the number of research centres. It accounts for an estimated 1.6% of Québec’s GDP ($5.6 billion).
