Montréal International’s 2026 AGM: New board members and three decades of impact celebrated
Montréal, April 16, 2026 – Montréal International’s Board of Directors is welcoming 10 new members to support the organization’s mandate to promote and foster economic development in Greater Montréal. Their appointments were confirmed at the Annual General Meeting held at Ax.c entrepreneurial space, attended by numerous elected officials and nearly 300 representatives from the business community.
The new members from the private sector are:
- Mario Charpentier, Founding Partner, BCF Business Law
- Anne No Delaide, Regional Vice-President, Commercial Financial Services, Québec, Royal Bank of Canada
- Karl Sasseville, Managing Director, Strategy and Public Affairs, Bank of Montréal
The new members from the public sector who joined the Board following the municipal elections of November 2025 were also formally welcomed:
- Danie Deschênes, Mayor of Notre-Dame-de-l’Île-Perrot
- Nicolas Dufour, Mayor of Repentigny
- Martin Fiola, Member of Laval City Council
- Jean‑François Lalonde, Mayor of the Villeray–Saint‑Michel–Parc‑Extension borough
- Soraya Martinez Ferrada, Mayor of the City of Montréal and President of the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal
- Vana Nazarian, Member of the Executive Committee of the City of Montréal
- Julien Hénault‑Ratelle, Member of the Executive Committee of the City of Montréal
Montréal International also highlighted the commitment of outgoing Board members: Alia Hassan‑Cournol, Richard Deschamps, René Douville, Julie Gascon, Mario Lemay, Cecilia Macedo, Valérie Plante, Jean‑François Prince, Élise Proulx, Luc Rabouin and René Villeneuve, as well as Mario Lapierre, who passed away in April 2025 and whose memory was honoured by his peers.

30 years of Montréal International
In addition to presenting its 2025 results, the organization took the opportunity to mark its 30th anniversary. Founded in 1996, Montréal International has played a pivotal role in developing high value‑added ecosystems, contributing to the transformation and diversification of Greater Montréal’s economy.

- $38B in announced foreign investment
- 1,400 investment projects supported
- 125,500 jobs created or maintained
- 27,000 international talents supported for their recruitment or immigration processes
- 12,000 work permits processed
- 60+ international organization projects supported as part of establishment or expansion initiatives
Montréal International also thanked all its partners for their financial support: the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal, the City of Montréal, the Government of Canada, the Government of Québec, as well as close to one hundred private sector partners.
