Montréal, May 8, 2026 — Montréal International is strengthening its international prospecting activities with a $6.1M contribution over four years (2026–2029) from the City of Montréal. The agreement supports four strategic priorities:

  • Attract investment projects in applied artificial intelligence by positioning Montréal as a leading hub for the commercialisation of technological solutions
  • Enhance and develop business intelligence and promotional tools to increase Montréal’s visibility in strategic markets
  • Target circular economy and sustainable development projects, particularly in Montréal’s East End and across metropolitan innovation zones
  • Support companies in their international recruit efforts and facilitate connections between businesses and skilled workers already settled in the region

This funding also includes a renewed commitment of $515,000 to support and attract international organizations to the city.

“The Ensemble Montréal administration is sending a strong signal to investors and talent worldwide: Montréal is a bold, forward-looking and globally connected city. Every dollar invested must generate tangible benefits, and this partnership allows us to attract the most strategic projects, skilled talent and initiatives to support Montréal’s economic growth,” said Montréal Mayor Soraya Martinez Ferrada.

“Montréal is a key international hub. Our administration must maximize the efforts to support its visibility and influence. With this new financial support, Montréal International has greater resources to showcase our key strengths on the global stage. We are equipping ourselves to attract new high value-added foreign investments and strengthen Montréal’s position as a creative and innovative city,” added Stéphanie Valenzuela, executive committee member responsible for international outreach and attractiveness at the City of Montréal.

“This support will enable us to target foreign investments that directly address today’s economic challenges, whether in productivity, workforce or sustainable development. Our thanks to Soraya Martinez Ferrada and her entire administration for their renewed confidence in our teams,” said Stéphane Paquet, President and CEO of Montréal International.
