Chambers of commerce
Joining a chamber of commerce and industry (CCI) is a great way for foreign-owned firms to connect with local organizations. In addition to the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montréal, which serves as the voice of local business and offers specialized services to Montréal companies, you can join one of many neighbourhood CCIs, such as those of Montréal-Nord, the West Island and Saint-Laurent/Mont-Royal.
Some CCIs, like the French CCI in Canada and the Canada–Lebanon CCI, also support bilateral trade relations.
Sector-specific clusters and associations
Businesses in a dozen strategic sectors have formed clusters that represent them at the federal and provincial levels. Joining such a cluster could be a great opportunity for you to meet key players and gain exposure for your business.
- Audiovisual production
- Artificial intelligence

- Clean technology
- Smart transportation systems and electric vehicles
The region also boasts a network of specialized associations that serve various sectors.
Greater Montréal regularly hosts international events that draw leaders and influencers from all walks of life. Two such must-attend events are C2 Montréal (Commerce + Creativity) and the Movin’On Summit (sustainable mobility).
Montréal International advisors will point out the best organizations and events you could join based on your business needs and operations.
