A project initiated by CMM in partnership with MI, CCMM and CargoM

Montréal, February 6, 2017 – The Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal (CMM), in partnership with Montréal International (MI), the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montréal (CCMM) and CargoM, is pleased to announce the launch of ZOOM Greater Montréal, a web portal where users can search for office space and industrial or commercial properties for rent or for sale in Greater Montréal.

The new online tool can be accessed for free at http://en.zoommtl.com/. A demo video is also available on the CMM website.

Currently, there are over 2,000 Greater Montréal lots, offices and commercial and industrial properties listed for sale on ZOOM Greater Montréal.

“The project is central to CMM’s economic mission, which is to show the world what Greater Montréal has to offer. ZOOM Greater Montréal should stimulate investment and foster business growth in the region. This online tool is a one-stop-shop platform that enables users to efficiently list vacant offices and industrial or commercial properties for sale in Greater Montréal. I commend all the partners involved in the project, particularly Montréal International, the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montréal and CargoM,” said Denis Coderre, Mayor of Montréal and Chair of CMM.

“ZOOM Greater Montréal will greatly help the city attract and retain foreign investors. The tool will soon become a core component of our investment attraction strategy, as it provides a wealth of economic and real-estate data on Greater Montréal’s business environment,” added Hubert Bolduc, President and CEO of Montréal International

“ZOOM Greater Montréal will benefit both foreign and local businesses, as it makes it easier for start-ups and growing businesses to seize business opportunities in Montréal. The tool can be used in parallel with CCMM’s ACCLR resource centre, which is linked to the new platform,” explained Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montréal.

“ZOOM Greater Montréal will help carry out impactful projects, promote Montréal as a cargo transportation hub and help create jobs across the industry in sync with our Maritime Strategy,” said Sylvie Vachon, President and CEO of the Montréal Port Authority and Chair of the Board of Directors of CargoM

In addition to the search functionality itself, ZOOM Greater Montréal provides key information for investment decision-making. For each selected commercial or industrial property, users can view a complete socio-economic profile of the area where the property is located. Sociodemographic data is extrapolated into the future. Labour force data is broken down by occupation, and neighbouring businesses are listed by line of business. What’s more, users can also access consumer spending data and information on the area’s transportation and logistics infrastructure.

In its 2013 industrial property strategy, CMM pointed out that information on the availability of ready-to-move-in industrial properties is key to attracting foreign investment. Investors can now use ZOOM Greater Montréal to access that information.
