I choose Montréal: back-to-school season kicks off with a recruitment mission to Mexico

August 22, 2019

After a successful exploratory mission last year at Mexico’s Pixelatl Festival, a leading event for animation, visual effects and video game enthusiasts, the I choose Montréal (ICM) team is going back to Mexico to convince Mexican students to choose Greater Montréal for their graduate studies.

Accompanied by five world renowned universities, the team will be stopping off in Mexico City September 1 to 6, to take advantage of the QS World Grad School Tour, a prestigious recruitment fair for Master’s and Ph.D. candidates.

On that occasion, Montréal International, in collaboration with the Québec general delegation in Mexico City, will be joined by Concordia University, the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS), McGill University, Polytechnique Montréal and Université de Montréal.

Discover Montréal at our networking events

During this mission, the ICM team will organize several activities to meet with future students. The universities will have the chance to present their study programs at our networking events during which the students can ask the ICM representatives anything they want to know about the graduate studies, job prospects during and after their studies, the immigration process and living in Montréal.

Here is the agenda for the recruitment activities in Mexico:

  • Booth at QS World Grad Tour fair on September 2
  • Luncheon with Mexican education partners (by invitation only)
  • An exclusive networking event on September 3
  • Visits to Mexico City and Puebla universities

Montréal, an outstanding student city

Known for its world-class educational institutions and its unmatched quality of life, Greater Montréal – which receives over 35,000 international university students – stands out in the 2019 QS Best Student Cities Rankings, earning top spot among the best student cities in the Americas.

Montréal is now the hot spot for international students, and also stands out in how it manages to retain graduates by providing them with the support needed to help them easily start a new life in the city, as well as a number of job prospects to ensure a secure livelihood in the heart of a dynamic and cosmopolitan city.

Series of missions this fall

The I choose Montréal team is busy throughout the year organizing a number of activities for international students to present study programs, the Montréal student experience as well as job prospects and life in the region after completing their studies. The fall back-to-school season marks the start of a series of missions as the team will be organizing two virtual missions for students in Northwest Africa and Latin America, and they will also be heading out to events in Casablanca, Rabat, Paris, New York City, Boston, Beijing and Shanghai.

Find out about the I choose Montréal team’s upcoming activities and spread the word if you know any future students from those places.
